Lauren Lovejoy is a first-generation farmer, entrepreneur, and advocate for regenerative agriculture with over a decade of experience in nonprofit leadership and marketing. She holds a Master’s degree in Data Analytics and has spent the last three years working directly with farmers, growing a social media network of 150,000 followers to promote sustainable food systems. As the founder of Red Hen, Lauren is dedicated to solving the biggest challenge small farmers face—connecting with customers—by leveraging technology to make direct farm sales more profitable and accessible. With a deep passion for food sovereignty and a track record of building successful initiatives, she brings a strategic vision and hands-on expertise to scaling Red Hen into the go-to marketplace for local food.
Brett Burton
President, Co-Founder
Brett Burton is a seasoned marketing strategist and entrepreneur with a strong background in building scalable growth systems for digital platforms. With years of experience in e-commerce, technology sales, business development, strategic consulting, and payment processing integrations, Brett has played a crucial role in designing and building Red Hen to ensure the technology is both scalable and easy to use for both farmers and consumers. Brett is is deeply committed to the food sovereignty movement, working to expand access to local, sustainable food. In the past, he volunteered with an annual permaculture convergence and served as Treasurer for OLCERI, a nonprofit developing food access solutions rooted in Indigenous principles on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation in South Dakota.
Passionate about using ingenuity and creativity to solve real-world problems, he is committed to creating a platform that empowers small farms to compete in the modern marketplace. His expertise in business development for SaaS companies, user experience, and creating scalable backend business infrastructure ensures that Red Hen is not only functional but also built for long-term growth and scalability.
